Star Ruby, sometimes labelled "Dark Red" in retail, is the grapefruit we ship out of Egypt. Large round fruit with a thick golden-yellow peel. Flesh ranges from white through pink to deep red, and the rule is simple: redder flesh, sweeter fruit. Tangy, refreshing, lightly seeded. Eight size grades from 30 to 72 cover everything from breakfast portion-cut to bulk juicing. Reefer runs warmer than the rest of the citrus group, 10 to 13 °C, to avoid chilling injury.
